Park Slope clapped for “Jewish supremacism” and Nazi talk. Mamdani’s NYC

It was Tuesday night at the Park Slope Food Coop. Sixteen thousand members strong, the place runs as a socialist grocery most days, but turns into a political war zone the minute the BDS crowd shows up. They were down to maybe ten Israeli items on the shelves, and the activists wanted to drop the boycott threshold from seventy-five percent to a bare majority so they could finish the job.

According to the NY Post story, a member named Michael Huarachi logged in on Zoom and said it straight. “Jewish supremacism is a problem in this country.” He compared Jews to Nazis. Fifty people in the room clapped like it was the most obvious thing in the world. The moderators did their usual nothing. “Thank you for your comment. Please don’t clap.” Jewish members who have belonged there for decades stood up and called it what it was. One of them had already filed a state complaint after a Jewish woman outside the store got hit with a “Sieg Heil.”

This is Park Slope. The capital of enlightened Brooklyn. The neighborhood that congratulates itself on every rainbow flag and every tolerance sticker. And the applause for raw Jew hatred came fast and loud.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani did not invent the poison. He just made it government policy. The word he and his people love to throw around, “Zionist,” is not some organic Arab grievance. I would say echoes of KGB AgitProp. Moscow rolled it out after the Six-Day War to delegitimize Israel without sounding like the old czarist blood libels. They pushed “Zionism is racism” through the UN in 1975 and watched the Western left swallow it whole. Same trick, better branding. Mamdani just updated the packaging for New York.

His campaign made the visuals unmistakable. Door knockers in keffiyehs working the brownstones, Arabic videos with Palestinian flags, the whole field operation looked like an intifada auxiliary corps. Jewish voters saw exactly what it was. Plenty of them held their noses and voted for him anyway. Now the city gets what it asked for.

Since taking office, Mamdani has scrapped the previous administration’s orders that protected Jews and blocked city boycotts of Israel. He has filled key posts with people who talk about “Zionist supremacy” the way the old Soviet hacks talked about “rootless cosmopolitans.” The Park Slope co-op is just the latest place where the mask slipped and the crowd cheered what was underneath.

The left always claims it is fighting racism. In practice it has turned Jew hatred into the highest form of anti racism. The KGB could not have scripted a better outcome. Park Slope proved the point. The only real question left is how many more co-ops, schools, and subway cars catch fire before anyone with a spine decides enough is enough.
